Soprano Music Box Recording (CD)


A CD recording of the beautiful cylinder music box found in the Library of the Campbell House Museum. Made by famous Swiss manufacturer Mermod Freres around 1890, the “Ideal Soprano” model was known for its rich tone. The music box plays a wide selection of songs and hymns popular at the end of the nineteenth century, including “Home, Sweet Home”, “Rock of Ages” and “Old Folks at Home” as well as operatic selections from “Faust” and “Il Travatore”.
